“Big-city excitement”
There’s nothing to do in a small town, so it’s best to just pack and move to a big, exciting city,
where the air has a color, your neighbor is a stranger, and personalities are gritty.
Why stay where there’s nothing to do except breathe, relax and enjoy your pace of life,
when you can live elbow-to-elbow, race from stop light to stop light, and know that everyday activity will lead to some manner of strife.
Yes, there is nothing worse than living in a small town,
where people ask you how you are and bring you a casserole or offer help when life gets you down,
I’d much rather live where you could pass out in the street and passersby would pay you no mind,
where strangers don’t want to get involved and they’re not very kind.
So, if you ask me, “Why won’t you live in a small town? There’s always something to do!”
I’d reply, “Thanks, but no thanks, I am perfectly at home in my concrete zoo.”
